A Sibling Caregiver

"It's just being a sister, being a family member, being someone that loves him and cares about him."

Ali

Transcript

My husband and I, when my mom and stepdad cannot, we do the meds with my brother twice a day. That’s the only thing that we have to do that’s directly related to his mental illness. Otherwise it’s just being a sister, being a family member, being someone that loves him and cares about him.

And, of course, I also have to micromanage his list of chores that my mother leaves him to do around the house when she goes away. Though he sometimes waits ‘til the last day and just checks everything off like he did it every day, like any like teenager would do.
