Living With Bipolar and Having a Newborn

I get a lot of questions from my blog readers about how to have a child when you’ve been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. My biggest piece of advice is definitely have a plan. Know your triggers. Committing to a feeding schedule for the baby was important. My husband would get up in the middle of the night and do that 2 AM or 3 AM feeding so that I could get a solid stretch of six hours of sleep. Things aren’t always going to be perfect, but at least you can have a plan in place.
